Fibers on Friday: A Sleeve is Started

We're on a roll now! I finished the body of my February Lady Sweater! Starting the sleeves was a little harrowing, I must say. I picked up the stitches from the scrap problem....I picked up and knitted the underarm problem. Then, I started knitting in the round...yippie!!

But wait??? The pattern was coming out was inside out....oh no! I was knitting in the wrong direction. ARGH!!

I was so tense frogging back to those starting stitches. I just knew I'd lose some or mess up my count or something. But, I did it and it all worked out. I've said it before and I'll say it again:

It's all about learning!

Not to mention, it's all about making this beautiful sweater as good as I can, because too much work and time goes into it to have something bother me because it's wrong.

So now, my fiber loving friends, I can't wait to see what you've been working on! I've invited even more people this week and I hope to see them here on Friday. My button is on the sidebar....I'd love for you to grab it and include it in your post or on your blog. Spread the word :-)

  1. Thanks for the comments on my FLS. I think yours is beautiful; it's well worth a little frogging to get the darn thing right.

  2. Thank you for all the nice comments. I don't feel quick with the scrubbies. They are a fast knit though.

  3. That sweater is lookin' super cute! Hopefully I'll get to finish my son's sweater this weekend... we'll see!

  4. I feel your pain. I knit this sweater in merino, and I fought with it the whole time. Took me hours just to figure out that gull stitch--which I have sworn off every doing again--because I knit continentally, and the pattern expects you to knit in the American style ... and then after it was all said and done, I wore it once and accidentally tossed it in the wash with the non-delicates. It came out a little felted. Absolutely live and learn! Have a great Friday everyone!

  5. I so wish I had something to contribute to your linky party! I just do recipes though, I'm not crafty at ALL! Great read and great blog though! I love the picture of the sweater, I SO wish I could do that.

  6. Popping in to say hi and thanks for your comments the other day on my Hey, Lady Sweater. I recognize that sleeve. Eeeeee!! I like the light green (this is the first I've seen yours). Mine has been sitting here with only one sleeve since (checks Rav) August 21. Even though it's cool enough now to hold the big wool sweater in my lap while I knit, I can't quite bring myself to tackle picking up for that second sleeve.

I don't have new pics of anything current, I'm afraid... I've spent the last week frogging and restarting a hat for the fourth and most frustrating time. I am seriously close to killing the thing with fire instead.

  7. Cute blog makeover, Beff! Loving the progress on the sweater!

What's on your mind, friend?
