Two color challenge; It's all about the Shoes

If today was any indication of what my summer will be like, I'm diggin' it. My kids had their pre-school field day this morning. We came home and did a bunch of things they enjoy, then I carved out some crafty time for my self while the grill heated up for our dinner. Let me revel in how good I have it. I do.

So, I set out to work on some masculine cards because I have a few man birthdays and Father's Day coming up. But, I needed a little inspiration, so I checked out the challenge for 365 cards. The challenge was to use only two colors on your card. Well, I wasn't thinking masculine for this one, but here's what I came up with:

I was able to use my Green Thumb Stamp set from PTI AND....AND...it was the first time I used my scalloped Nestibilities. Big time! You'll also see the Vintage ( Lemon tart and New Leaf) buttons from PTI and the Lemon tart ribbon. The sentiment is comical for me....I own about 4 pairs of shoes, two of which are flip-flops!

The masculine cards I did had nothing to do with the challenge, but they're cute nonetheless. The racoon images were colored several weeks ago at a Copics class I attended and they were patiently waiting for their spot on a card:

Patterned paper and labels are from Close to my Heart.

Thanks for looking! Have a great weekend!

  6. Hello, adorable card-maker! Thanks for your notes on my new post! I am SO with you on the speed at which we want to complete the post after the ink has barely (if at all!?!)dried!!! But hey, from a photographically challenged girl, like myself...: the sympathy card I just did was.. TA DA photographed AT night IN my studio, and it dawned on me to just point my OTT (or daylight bulb) at the card in a way that cast nice shadow and boom! No flash required and I was SUPER pleased with the results! (It didn't take much time at all!) Anywhoo, that's all I have to say about that {-Forest Gump}.. I'll be stalking you soon! xo- Elise
