A Couple of Things....Revisited

I'm doing two things today that I love and have blogged about before, so I thought I'd share the ideas again real quick.

First, I'm going to the post office to ship out my collection of bottle caps for recycling. You can read about the Aveda recycling program here.

Then, I'm making a batch of my homemade laundry detergent. The recipe can be found here.

Fibers on Friday

Hi there! Welcome to Fibers on Friday!! I'm happy to have you join this fun party dedicated to knitting, crochet, or anything else fiber related!

I am prepping for a FUN weekend getaway with 6 girls. New York City, here we come! I have an old Army buddy coming all the way from Texas to join us. We are going to see Wicked...we are going to be pampered at Bliss Spa....we are going to EAT lots of yummy food...there will probably be some drinking of yummy wine....and of course, lots of LAUGHTER. I am so excited!

So, I'm just going to open this party now and let you guys run with it. I'll be back Monday morning to see what you've linked up and maybe I'll post the highlights of our weekend.

Wordless Wednesday: Creature Comfort

Two Banners

I made two banners yesterday. The first of this nature for me; the flag type. I'm prepping for my girls' 6th Birthday.....{gulp}! This year it falls on Easter Sunday, so that will be a fun day of Egg Hunts and partying!

So, here is the first banner for the Birthday. I followed this tutorial.


I love the colors! All the fabric came from my stash. The stripey one is fabric I've had since 1997!! I used Heat n' Bond to create iron on letters from fabric spelling out "Celebrate".

And then I made a smaller one for spring, it says "Blossom":

These were fun. I could go nuts....and I probably will :-) The birthday party could totally use a few more.

On another note. I'm without any fresh ideas for Meatless Monday. But they've recently created a widget with a rotating list of Meatless recipes. I've added it to my side bar if you're interested in some meatless inspiration.
