Here is the sketch for this week's CPS Challenge.
And here's my take:
I must say, I love it. I've already used these papers and die cuts from Amy Butler in a previous challenge, but this one looks totally different.
This is going to be a beautiful day and I want to be outside! I also want to be crafty, but perhaps I'll save the craftiness for the rainy days that are predicted this week.
Thanks for looking!

I can't make this up....
I don't intend for this blog to really be about my kids, but I have to share this story. I couldn't make this up:
Yesterday the girls had show and tell at preschool. The letter of the week was "U", which means they have to bring something that begins with "U". I asked Paige what she wanted to bring and she said, "U....U....Uvula"! Yup, she wanted to bring her uvula. (your uvula is that little dingle hopper that hangs down in the back of your throat....not trying to insult your intelligence, but perhaps you didn't know....) I taught them both what a uvula was because a long time ago, my cousin's young son mentioned his uvula and it cracked me up that he knew what it was.
This morning, the girls were playing kitty cat. I overheard Paige saying, "I'm scratching you because I don't have opposable thumbs." These kids crack me up.

Spring Card CPS Challenge 108
Here's my nice spring-y card presented to you on this dull, dreary, cold, rainy day here in NJ. I made this card for the CPS Challenge.
This card was fun because I got to color the bunny with my Copic markers. I haven't taken a class yet, so I just mess around and color simple images like this one. I did use the colorless blender on the ears, but you can barely tell. I would have colored the tutu a different color...one that I had matching Stickles to go with....but Paigey picked the color and everyone knows "Purple loves Paigey." Everyone knows that, right? thought so.
I finally remembered to use my new border punch! Should have used it last week.
And I used light pink chalk around the scalloped edges of the bunny.
This may be my favorite card yet!

I've been tagged!
My ol' pal Bonnie, over at Where Did This all Come From has tagged me and is thereby forcing me to tell you 7 things about myself that you probably don't know. Yikes! Actually, it's ok....I really don't mind taking my blog to a new realm. I intend to do more things like the Tackle it Tuesday and perhaps the Wordless Wednesday. So, thanks Bonnie!
Now here are the rules:
I need to link to the person that tagged me.
I need to share 7 things people may not know about me.
I need to tag 7 people to share 7 things and link to them.
I need to let them know they've been tagged.
This is going to be hard because I really feel like I'm an open book....to a fault! So, this may have to be a draft while I think things over......
1. I know how to drive a military tracked vehicle (like a tank) and I'm good at it. I know what it's like to have my head sticking out of the hatch, cruising across the desert, winding up at my destination covered in dust. My surprising aptitude for driving such a vehicle (what with my history of being a girly girl with a ring on every finger and never tolerating my hands being dirty) landed me with the nickname, "Track B*tch". I'm not ashamed to say I embraced that name.
2. There is a candle holder in my bedroom that is layered with dust. I'm keeping it that way so that the next time someone has something snide to say about the way I keep my house, I can pull them aside and show them proof that I'm not crazy! Oh wait, is that crazy in and of itself???
3. I saw a book in Target titled something along the lines of, I was a Great Mom Before I had Kids. Sometimes I feel like I don't live up to the expectations I had of being a Mom. Like being patient all of the time and savoring even the bad moments.
4. Lately I don't read books! All I read is blogs! But, I'm OK with that because I feel I learn so much about the things I love; photography, cooking, crafting, etc.
5. I could eat spaghetti for breakfast, lunch, and dinner for the rest of my life.
6. I will look at aforementioned candle holder every.single.day and fight back heart palpitations and the urge to dust it until someone...anyone....gives me a reason to show it to them!
7. Being in the military shaped me more than any other experience in my life and I'm so thankful it' s part of my life, and equally thankful it's in my PAST.
I know that most of these are no big secrets....but, it's all I got!
Let's see if I can tag 7 people:
Brandi ( not sure if her blog is public)
Steph ( check out her crafty McCraftiness)
Kati (her blog is set private though)
Amy ( yummy vegetarian recipes from my cousin)
Karina (although she was tagged in Bonnie's post)
That's all I've got...all the other blogs I read are from people who don't know I exist!
Thanks for this little project to do today, Bonnie!

Cupcake Card/CPS 107
A cute little cupcake card for the CPS challenge.
This was fun and came together easily. I like the glittery striped paper.

Chocolate McNuggets
Get it? McNuggets!! And in my very best Irish accent, "Top O' the Marnin' to ya!"
Here's a darling little treat suitable for any holiday. It's the latest craze, I think. My friend Steph made them for her son's teachers for Valentines Day and was recently commissioned by them to make MORE for a birthday party. You can see hers here. So, I thought I'd make some for my kids' preschool class for St. Patty's day....
It's just a Hershey's chocolate nugget wrapped in a 1" address label that I stamped with shamrocks. So easy....so cute. Then I found this little felted bag at Target in the dollar section. Perfect!
My husband says I'm freaking him out a little with how excited I am about St. Patty's day! Truth is, I've always LOVED it and now I'm able to devote some time to making it special for the girls. I've been leaving notes from 'Leprechauns' around the house. Madison is so excited when she finds one, although she has no interest in "trapping" a leprechaun which is what I wanted to try! I have a few other little surprises up my sleeve, plus an Irish themed dinner planned for Tuesday. I even splurged and bought Lucky Charms cereal for this weekend. The girls are NOT going to know what to do with marshmallows in their cereal!

CPS Challenge/Mother's Day Cards
My CPS challenge for this week. I made it into a Mother's day card and then went wild and created 5 more for a stash! Really, I'm hoping to get really good with this card making stuff, start building a stash, and offering people cute hand-made cards to buy instead of running to a card store. A girl can dream, right?

A Challenge
Back in February, before I had a blog, my friend Steph was entering a different challenge almost every day in hopes of winning a big prize during the Paper Trey Ink anniversary celebration. She hounded me everyday to enter one, but I never found the time. Plus, I didn't have a blog. But now my kids are back in pre-school and I've been carving out time to make a card or do a scrapbook page in the morning.
There's a website that hosts a layout challenge every week. So, here is my first one (you can click to enlarge)! It's at CPS.
I've had these die cuts for a couple of months now. I liked the colors and I found coordinating self-sticking ribbon.
Then, since I had everything out, I put this one together real quick.
THIS is really why I wanted to start a blog....so I'm glad to be gettin' going with it!
Plus, yesterday, my friend Bonnie recognized my blog and gave me a friendship award on her blog! How nice was that??

Birthday Card
Steph and I recently discovered Papertrey Ink as a source for buying stamping/card making/scrapbooking supplies. We placed our first order on the 15th. It was delivered to my house, but I thought it would be totally unfair to "play" with it without her. So, the other night, she got her goods and I was free to play!
I made this little birthday card with new cardstock and I stamped the birthday sentiment from a set of stamps I ordered for making the girls' birthday invitations. The ribbon is not new, but it's been in my stash for a long time waiting to be used.
I like it. But I really can't wait for my class on coloring with Copic markers!! Then we'll really be stepping it up a notch!
